How much it costs to shoot a bow in a dash

The complex tour of the shooting range included shooting from an air rifle, a pistol, a crossbow and a bow, as well as a laser shooting range and throwing knives. I expected to fall in love with pneumatics, but the onion was more interesting. A week later I signed up for an hour-long class with a coach.

More than a year has passed since then. I continue to be engaged in archery, bought my bow with all the equipment and plan to go to the archery competitions. In this article I will tell you how training is held and how much money it takes to learn how to hit targets.

What are the bows

The three main types of bows are traditional, classic and blocky. In the dash give to shoot out of anyone.

Traditional onion, a.sd. This is a wooden bow from historical films - an arc of stick with a string. No additional equipment such as a sight and stabilizer on such a bow do not hang. Shoot it intuitively, without sight.

The arrow shelf of the traditional bow is small, so plumage at the shot touches it or the hand of the archer. Saves natural plumage - from tradition shoot only with him. Unlike rubber feathers, natural bends well, so when colliding with a shelf or hand do not spoil the shot and do not injure the archer.

Traditional bows can be recursive. It's not a different kind of onion, just a different type of design. You can recognize and distinguish the recursive bow by bending the shoulders outwards. Recursity adds power to the bow at the same size. The more powerful the bow, the faster and further the arrows fly - but the forces are spent more.

Maya Dinonova is a member of the Russian Archery Horse Federation. She shoots a traditional recursive bow. To learn such shooting, you need to sit confidently in the saddle, without it to take a bow in the hands of pointless Classic onion. It is also called Olympic, because of such bows shoot at the Olympics. The classic bow shoots more accurately than the traditional one. It can hang a sight and stabilizers, which are easier to hit the target.

All classic bows are recursive. And they are disassembled: consist of a handle and two shoulders. Parts of the onion are stored separately, and collected only before shooting. From the classic bows after training necessarily remove the string: constant tension for the onion is harmful.

Maria Gilmanova has been shooting a classic bow for 5 years. She is a candidate for master of sports, participates in competitions - urban scale and all-Russian, has repeatedly become their prize-winner and winner Block onions. It's a fancy sniper rifle among bows. Block bows are the most accurate, fast and technically complex of existing ones.

The main distinguishing feature of the block bow - two wheels at the ends of the shoulders and crossed ropes. Wheels are called blocks, or eccentrics. The block system reduces the force it takes to hold the onion in the stretch. It helps the archer calmly aim and shoot.

Sergey Nestroyny shoots from block onions and trains members of the Volgograd region archery team. He is a multiple medalist and winner of various regional archery competitions at 18 meters and in the discipline of 3D

In traditional and classic bows, the archer bends the shoulders of the bow when he pulls the string. The shot takes place at the moment of straightening of the shoulders. From these types of onions have to aim with maximum tension, it is physically difficult. From block bow to aim and shoot more comfortable: part of the effort takes on the technique.

A shot of block onions also occurs when the shoulders are straightened, but the onion itself is harder to work. Each block consists of two chambers: a large one on which the aunt rests, and a small one on which the cable moves. When the archer stretches the bow, the blocks turn, the ropes wind on the inner chamber and compress the shoulders, accumulating energy for the shot. When stretching, the force on the string gradually increases, and then drops sharply - with most of the load transferred to the cables. The moment when the tension drops is called a reset.

I shoot bow bow Bowtech Eva Shockey Signature Series. That's how it works.

All three types of bows are suitable for entertainment, sports and hunting. But the experience and technique of shooting vary. You can understand the difference only by shooting from different bows.

In the dash I trained on rolling equipment: the first two weeks I shot a classic bow, then I wanted to try block. From the ray gallery that day I left with the feeling that I had found my own.

Archery targets

Athletes-beamers shoot at special targets, which are attached to the shields. The size and appearance of the targets depend on the type of bow and distance, but the principle is the same: you need to get as close to the center as possible.

For getting into the inner ring archer gets 10 points, so it is called "ten." The farther from the center of the target the ring, the less points give per hit. The outer ring gives 1 point. If you don't hit the target, you'll get nothing. This is called getting into milk.

The bands separating the target areas are called dimensions. Getting into the size is interpreted in favor of the archer. For example, if an arrow hits between 9 and 10 points, the archer will be counted 10.

Sports distances in archery indoors are 18, 30 and 50 meters to the target. In outdoor competitions, the races start at 30 meters. Women shoot at 30, 50, 60 and 70 meters, men - at 30, 50, 70 and 90. Olympic distance - 70 meters to the target.

The most common competitions are the targeting of the World Archery Federation:18 meters indoors, 50 meters in the air for block bows and 70 meters in the air for the classic.

On triple targets shoot from 18 meters from block and classic bow at competitions indoors. The diameter of dozens for blockers - 2 cm, for classics at the same distance and the size of the target a dozen more - 4 cm

How much effort does the archer spend

From the outside, it may seem that archery is a stressful business. You put an arrow, you stretch, you shoot. Of course it's not like that.

One of the main characteristics of the bow is the force of tension. It is measured in kilogram-forces or in pound-forces, which all usually call just pounds. The force of tension shows what force must be applied to stretch a traditional or classic bow to a distance of 28 inches. In block bows, the force of tension shows what peak force you will need to stretch when stretching. In laws and certificates for weapons in Russia put kilograms-forces, and archers among themselves are measured by pounds.

Here's a bit of physics: one kilogram of strength equals the weight of an object weighing 1 kg. One pound is 0.45 kilograms. Athletes usually shoot bows with a tension of 40 to 60 pounds - that's 18 to 27 kgs. It turns out that at each shot the archer raises a large watermelon with two hands.

You get tired of tension and retention of string. After an hour-long training, I want to eat as if I wasn't fed for 24 hours.

How to train in the dash

To start shooting a bow in a dash, you just need to come there. Immediately buy your equipment is not necessary: you can get acquainted with sports at the rental.

I shoot block onions indoors at a distance of 18 meters. I'm a lazy archer and go to an hour-long workout once, at most twice a week. Professional athletes train for 3-6 hours a day.

Triceps, biceps, back muscles, chest, oblique abdominal muscles and abs work in archery. My office worker's posture has improved for nine months of training, and I can easily open cans with metal lids. The muscles of the legs do not remain without load either: the muscles of the thighs, buttocks and calfs work at the right rack.

Archery is not very traumatic. Injuries are most often the ligaments and joints of the hands - due to too tight onions, improper firing technique or non-compliance with safety rules. The first two months of training I constantly ached my hands and back, with the habit of clogged ligaments. One day I couldn't lift my arm properly for five days, my shoulder hurt so much. This was because the body is not used to the load. Now I am used to it and I don't feel any pain after training.

Warm up before and after training. In order not to get injured, I do a small set of exercises before training. On the Internet you can find special warm-ups for archers, usually they include simple exercises for the neck and hands. They prepare muscles and ligaments for the upcoming load.

A familiar doctor advised to knead the ligaments with a tennis ball after each training session. You need to squeeze the ball between the shoulder and the wall and lead them back and forth on the surface of the shoulder. It really helps: the next day the muscles and ligaments almost do not hurt.

Training. After the warm-up, the training itself begins. My training mainly includes methodical shooting: shot a series of three arrows, pulled arrows out of the shield, again shoot. If I get tired, I take a short break, so as not to overload the muscles: when they get tired, it is more difficult to observe the technique of shooting, and without it there are no stable results. And the whole point of sports archery is to make the same movements every time and get a permanent result.

It is more important for beginner archers to think about shooting technique, rather than getting into the top ten, so they are given a larger target. For the first six months I trained on a target with a diameter of 40 centimeters instead of 20 - so it is easier to learn. Got into such a target and did not mess in the technique - well done.

Sometimes the target is hung on the shield by the white side, so that nothing distracts from the physical side of the workout. Training with a large target or a white sheet helps to avoid the target panic - a psychological state when aiming archer begins to worry too much about hitting and spoils the shot.

In addition to shooting there is still exercises on hold: it is when you stretch the bow, aim, hold the bow in the stretch for a while - and put off, that is, fold the bow without a shot. Professional archers also have endurance shooting and general physical training.

At first it will be difficult to stretch the onion, then it will be easier. Over time, the hands will allow longer to hold the bow without hesitation from side to side, and the back will cease to hurt

Six months later, I switched to a triple target, the standard for a distance of 18 meters. Each shot on it is made in a separate target: top, middle and lower. You can't shoot at one target twice: you can break an arrow.

The films show that hitting an arrow into an arrow is the pinnacle of radhas. For an athlete with a block bow to make two shots, after which the arrow will fly to one point, no problem. It is more difficult to shoot 30 points without breaking arrows. Modern bows are very accurate and in the hands of professionals show a constant result.

Athlete Mike Schlosser, who shoots from a block bow, shot 597 points out of 600 in 60 shots at 18 meters - that's a lot.

When I went to triple-A, I thought I wasn't going to get into anything. Turns out I was worried for nothing. Of course, I am far from professionals, but I can't stand it beyond color circles. Now I get used to the new bow, so it is difficult to judge any results.

I've come across the opinion that archery is boring because you have to do the same thing. But I find it soothing and meditative. You need to watch your whole body, breathing and psychological mood, so training clears your head and teaches to concentrate.

The Archers have a joke about the mood: "What is 28? It's 10, 10, 8." If you've hit dozens twice in the series, it's not time to relax: on the third shot you can bury the result.

Workouts at home

Since I don't come to the shooting range very often, I do extra work at home. Of course, it is not possible to shoot there. Every day I practice for 15 minutes - repeat exercises on different muscle groups from the video with training archers on YouTube. After them, I still get tired.

In a good way, I need to study more and more often, because so far the physical strength is not enough. I plan to get the title of a candidate for master of sports at a distance of 18 meters. To do this, women in the single all-Russian sports classification need to shoot at the competition 525 points for 60 shots - it's 20 series of three shots.

While 20 episodes for me a lot: muscles get tired, the technique limps and I start to miss.

How much does training cost?

I've been shooting since December 2017. There are no individual trainings in my dash - it turns out that I rent one of the five tracks and the time of the instructor.

I'm doing a dash of "Labyrinth." I spent 45,000 rubles in nine months of training - so much it took me to learn to get into the predominantly yellow target sector. I am still a long way from the level of professional athletes.

45 000 Р

I spent nine months training.

After buying onions training cost me less: an hour of shooting with your equipment costs 1100 rubles. I spend 5500 rubles a month.

Prices and conditions vary from shooting range. Classes last 60 or 90 minutes, each costs from 1100 to 1600 rubles. Prices for individual classes with a coach - from 1600 to 2400 rubles. Some clubs can also pay for the number of shots. For example, in the club "Varyag" 10 shots will cost 250 rubles.

Shoot with your equipment and without a coach is the cheapest: about 500-600 rubles per hour.

Children in Moscow and St. Petersburg can do shooting for free. I don't know how to deal with this in other Russian cities. You can find free schools on the Internet at the request of "JUSH archery" and the name of the city. JUSH is a children's and youth sports school. You can also look for SJUSSHORE, a specialized children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve.

What's next: competitions

Next winter I plan to go for a ride in competitions. They are divided by age - children and adults. Divided by rank: the championships of the city, region, country, Europe and the world. Usually compete in the following classes: women - classic bow, women - block bow, men - classic bow, men - block bow.

There are still small club competitions. I'll probably start with them. I don't expect high results, but I want to get this experience. As far as I know, there are no cash contributions for participation at such competitions, but there is no prize fund.

From my shooting range to the competition few people go, except the coach: all work and other things. I believe that the spirit of rivalry will benefit my motivation. The coach often tells how difficult it is to shoot in competitions because of adrenaline, emotions and noise. I'm interested to try.

To develop in sports and go to competitions, you need your bow. I decided to buy nine months after the start of training and spent on all the necessary equipment 139,000 R. I will tell you what exactly the money went into the next article.
